Our mission
MarkePinas exists to give marketers and business readers in the Philippines and abroad clear, accurate, and politically neutral news and insight about marketing, business, and consumers in the Philippines, in English.
Independence
MarkePinas is owned by APOC Co., Ltd., a Japanese company. We receive no funding from any government, political party, or advocacy group. The Site currently carries no advertising, and we do not accept payment for news coverage. Companies and brands mentioned in our articles do not review or approve them before publication. APOC Co., Ltd. also operates APOC Wire, a press-release distribution service; press releases from that service appear only in the clearly labeled Press Releases section and are never presented as news reporting.
Neutrality
We do not endorse candidates, parties, or causes. On contested political, social, or religious issues we report the stated positions of the parties involved and do not editorialize. We avoid loaded language and label opinions as such when quoting them.
Sourcing and attribution
- Every article that draws on reporting by other news organizations names those organizations and links to the original report at the end of the article.
- We do not reproduce other publishers' text. We write our own summaries and background, and we limit direct quotation to a single short quote per article.
- We do not use images from other publishers. Images are our own, licensed, or public-domain, with credit where required. Images in press releases are supplied by the issuing organization with the release.
Use of artificial intelligence
We do not currently publish AI-assisted articles. If we start using AI tools to draft articles, every such article will carry an "AI-assisted" label and list its sources, and our editorial team will correct or remove any article found to be inaccurate. Details are in our AI Disclosure.
Accuracy and corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. See our Corrections Policy.
Separation of press releases
Press releases are published as supplied by the issuing organization (only the formatting is adapted to the Site), labeled "Source: APOC Wire", and linked to the original release. They reflect the views of the issuing organization, not of MarkePinas.
